Fable: The Ants and the Grasshopper

One bright day is late Autumn the ants were bustling about in the warm sunshine drying out the grain they collected in the summertime. A starving Grasshopper, his fiddle under his arm, passed by and earnestly begged for a some food.

The Ants inquired of him, “Haven't you stored any food for winter? What were you doing all last  summer?"

He replied, “I didn't have time to store any food, whined the grasshopper. I was so busy making music that before I knew it the summer was gone.

The ants shrugged their shoulders in disgust. “If you were foolish enough to sing all the summer, you must dance supperless to bed in the winter.”
