Dust Echoes is a series of twelve beautifully animated Dreamtime stories, collected from Central Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory, Australia, telling stories of love, loyalty, duty to country and Aboriginal custom and law. They premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival in 2007. They retell traditional dreamtime stories in an engaging and modern way using stunning animation techniques. Aimed at upper primary and lower secondary students, they explore themes such as the Aboriginal moiety and kinship systems, power and responsibility in the community, safety and survival in the bush, Indigenous ceremonies and traditional art and craft techniques.
