Performing Arts: Duncraig: The Arts

Musicians in the following ensembles need to wear Performance Dress for certain occasions:

• Concert Band
• High School Orchestra
• St Stephen's Singers (inc The Fellas and The Stellas) and
• Swing Band.

This consists of:

• A shirt (Males: black with turquoise & Females: turquoise blue) - available from the Uniform Shop.
• Black floor length trousers (not jeans, jeggings or leggings)
• Black socks/stockings
• Black closed in shoes
• Hair, makeup and jewellery in accordance with School Policy.

Primary Dance (open for Years 3-6)

7 weeks at Duncraig every Wednesday 11th May - 22nd June, students will be dancing to a range of styles including jazz, contemporary and hiphop throughout the term. (collection 3:15pm from admin and return to admin at 4.15pm for collection).

Year 3 String Program - Each student in Year 3 is given the opportunity to play violin, viola, cello or double bass.

Year 4 String Program - Successful students from the Year 3 String Program are invited to continue their String Tuition.

Year 5 Band Instrument Program - Students are invited to learn a band instrument.

ELC Choir - All students have one lesson of Choir a week for one term under the direction of Rebecca Thorne. During school time.

Chamber Choir - Students from Years 5 - 6 (Auditioned) Thursday 7:30am - 8:30am Primary Forum under the direction of Jeanette Teh.

Music Performance Choir - Students from Years 7 - 12 (No experience necessary. No audition) Monday 7:15am - 8:15am Rehearsal Room under the direction of Andrea Stimson and Marion Jamison.

St Stephen's Stellas A Cappella - Students from Years 9 - 12 (4 - 5 years choral experience. Auditioned) Friday 7:15am - 8:15am Music Mac Lab under the direction of Andrea Stimson.

High School Orchestra - Students from Years 7 - 12 (4 - 5 years instrumental experience on a String instrument. Membership by invitation) Thursday 3:30pm - 5:00pm Lower Ensemble Room Music Suite under the direction of Jeanette Teh.

Junior/Intermediate/Senior Trios, Quartets and Ensembles - Comprised of ensemble specific instrumentation at the discretion of the Music Staff. Can include flute ensemble, clarinet ensemble, saxophone ensemble, percussion ensemble etc.

Guitar Ensembles - Comprised of auditioned primary and secondary classical guitar students under the direction of Melissa Fitzgerald and Brendan Biddiss.

String Quartets - Comprised of specifically selected strings players, under the direction of String Tutors.
