`Pedagogy & Classroom Practice

Each year, the Curriculum Leaders select a theme for the whole school professional development at Duncraig Secondary. In 2018, we are going to focus on our Pedagogy. My aim is for every teacher to develop their classroom practice in an area of their choice. At present, the areas of focus for 2018 will be around:

• Giving feedback
• Visible Learning
• Thinking Routines - Higher Order Thinking
• Classroom engagement
• Motivation and Engagement
• Formative Assessment
• Reflective Practice

These will provide the topics for each term. In 2017, our focus was the ‘what’ of data analysis – 2018 will be the ‘how’ of pedagogy.
